TO MY FELLOW SOUTH CAROLINIANS:
Over the last 25 years, I have worked extremely hard in the private sector to provide for my family and make a difference in other people’s lives. For me, being a trial lawyer is a dream job because it is like for-profit public service. Throughout my career I have taken the tough cases, the ones that require the most work because these cases can effect systemic change.
About six months ago I began researching where we are as a state because so much around me didn’t make sense. Why is it that 68% of our 4th graders are not proficient in reading and 71% of our 8th graders are not proficient in math? Why is it that as recently as 2020 our roads ranked as the worst, most deadly in the nation?

The more I researched the clearer it became these problems and so many more are the direct result of money, greed and corruption that has poisoned state government. Unfortunately, over the last 25 years the political establishment has allowed these large corporations to rig the system to favor their own self-serving financial interests.
This thing called democracy does not belong to them it belongs to us. Yet, we don’t receive the basic services we expect and have already paid for while they get everything they desire. If you look at what we the people pay in taxes each year compared to what large corporations pay, you will find that for every dollar we the people pay, large corporations only pay a dime.
In the coming weeks, I will formally announce my campaign to be our State’s next Governor. Money, corruption, and greed has been doing a lot of winning in Columbia. It is time we the people do some winning.
Lastly, I want you to know I am aware this campaign will not fall on soft ears in Columbia and that the establishment and their corporate friends will come at me with everything they got. I want you to know, however, that no matter how much they attack me, try to stop me or try to silence me I will not stand down. I have prepared my entire adult life for what lies ahead.
