CHARLESTON – South Carolina Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mullins McLeod issued the following statement after Volkswagen announced it would be locating its headquarters for Scout Motors in Charlotte – along with 1,200 jobs – instead of in South Carolina:
"The corrupt establishment in Columbia gave away billions of taxpayer dollars to a foreign for-profit corporation and were surprised that their gambit didn’t work out. The establishment got played by Scout Motors and proved they can’t be trusted to look out for the South Carolina taxpayers or to protect our jobs.”
